專屬於大人的紐約爵士夜，即將把曼哈頓爵士俱樂部的聲音搬進現場！從爵士經典到「美國歌集」American Songbook傳世名作，四重奏以道地的 Straight-ahead Jazz 重新演繹，在薩克斯風、鋼琴、低音提琴與鼓組的即興交鋒之間，重現紐約爵士最迷人的搖擺律動。這個週末夜，就讓熟悉旋律與都會夜色交會，走進一場充滿老派浪漫的紐約爵士時光！

爵士樂史上最令人難忘的浪漫名曲，將帶領全場走進一幕幕經典畫面：〈My One and Only Love〉經約翰・柯川、法蘭克・辛納屈等爵士巨匠演繹，成為傳唱數十年的愛情標準曲，如同深夜裡低聲說出的深情告白；入選葛萊美名人堂的〈Misty〉，以朦朧旋律刻畫墜入愛河時心跳失序的悸動，是 American Songbook 中最迷人的爵士情歌之一；迪士尼經典動畫《白雪公主》名曲〈Someday My Prince Will Come〉，更在邁爾士・戴維斯等爵士大師的重新詮釋下成為爵士標準曲，輕盈三拍子在甜美憧憬之外，多了一份成熟而自由的即興想像。

薩克斯風音樂家林偉庭以厚實飽滿的音色唱出旋律深處的情感，鋼琴家 Greg Chen 在和聲與即興之間靈活穿梭，低音提琴手廖品勳以沉穩低頻撐起搖擺脈動，鼓手 Jacob Smith 則以充滿彈性的節奏推動整個四重奏。四位長年活躍於紐約爵士現場的音樂家，在彼此即時回應與即興交鋒之間，帶您感受 Straight-ahead Jazz 最迷人的現場張力——彷彿推開紐約爵士俱樂部的門，燈光微暗，第一個 Swing 節拍已經響起！

次中音薩克斯風 Tenor Saxophone｜林偉庭

出生成長在加州舊金山灣區的林偉庭，是一顆新興崛起的爵士樂明星。他漸進、熱血、溫醞的音色，源自於將傳統爵士樂與當代爵士樂的融合。

二十出頭的林偉庭便曾與許多爵士名家如Kenny Burrell、Tootie Health、Russell Ferrante、Carl Allen等一同演出。目前是一位活躍的爵士樂藝術家、教育家、和作曲家，並且正在準備自己的首張專輯，期待很快就能與大家分享他的新專輯。

鋼琴 Piano｜Gregory Chen

Gregory Chen is a jazz pianist based in New York City and Boston whose playing draws from the finest traditions of early twentieth-century jazz. A specialist in bebop, swing, and stride, Chen’s approach reflects the lineage of pianists such as Bud Powell, Barry Harris, Teddy Wilson, Billy Kyle, Willie “The Lion” Smith, and James P. Johnson. Rooted in the Great American Songbook and the work of jazz piano masters, he brings both historical depth and a personal voice to the bandstand.

An active performer on the East Coast jazz scene, Chen has established himself as an in- demand sideman and bandleader through regular appearances at New York’s leading jazz venues, including Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola, Smalls, Mezzrow, Ornithology, and The Algonquin Hotel Times Square, as well as numerous private clubs, concert series, and festivals throughout the United States. He has appeared frequently with bandleaders such as Aaron Johnson, Danny Tobias, and Alex Hoffman.

Outside of music, Chen works as a software engineer - a parallel career that has developed alongside his musical work for several years.

低音提琴 Bass｜廖品勳 Alvin Liao

Alvin Liao (廖品勳) is an upright and electric bassist and composer from Kaohsiung, Taiwan. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Applied Music from Fu Jen Catholic University and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Jazz Performance at New York University. At NYU, he studies with renowned musicians Gregg August, Dezron Douglas, Drew Gress, Chris Potter, Rich Perry, Lenny White, and Martin Wind.

As a versatile performer, Liao is active across a wide range of musical settings including jazz, orchestral music, musical theater, pop, and fusion. He has performed at international events such as the Taipei Jazz Festival and the C-LAB Sound Festival, and at notable venues including Blue Note NYC.

In addition to performing, Liao works as an arranger and composer. He contributed the string arrangement to the song “Golden” by Enno Cheng, which received the Best Alternative Pop Music Song award at the 2023 Golden Indie Music Awards.

鼓手 Drums｜Jacob Smith

Jacob Smith is a young jazz drummer from Northampton, MA that just moved to the city as of early August. Although he is technically new to the active scene, Jacob spent most of is undergraduate years commuting to New York so that he could play with his peers such as brandon; and study with the masters that still reside in the city. However, Jacob has already started to make a name for himself, playing with artist such as, Brian Lynch, Etienne Charles, Jazzmeia Horn, Samara Joy, Miguel Zenon, Marcus Strickland, Bobby Watson, and Curtis Lundy, all without living in the city yet. He is exited for what’s in store for this new chapter, and happy to join a community of young artists who really love this important music.
